In order to be eligible to apply for a PILA grant, you must complete at least the minimum public service and/or pro bono hours by the time you submit your application. The minimum for 1Ls is 15 hours, and the minimum for 2Ls is 35 hours (1L and 2L year combined).

PILA's definition of pro bono hours is the same as the Public Service Center's and is available here.

PILA's definition of "public service hours" has changed.  The new definition is much clearer and includes examples of what counts and what doesn't.  The definition is available on PILA's website under "FAQs."  (Just click the link or click FAQs" on the drop-down menu on the left of this page).

Grants will be due Friday, February 11 at 5pm, sharp.
