The Law School Travel & Accommodations
Reimbursement Program
L-STAR encourages UVA Law students to stay with friends or family
instead of a hotel during callback interviews. In lieu of paying
for hotel expenses, participating firms agree to donate $215 per night to
PILA for each participating student. Additionally, in lieu of paying
for cab rides to/from the airport, a firm could also choose to contribute
$35 on behalf of a student who is able to get a ride from someone
else. Both the firm and students benefit from the L-STAR program.
Firms bolster their commitment to public service by contributing
to students who pursue unpaid or low-paying summer internships with
non-profit and governmental agencies.
Students interested in participating in the program may download
the form below. The top half of the form should be given to recruiting
staff at the firm during your callback interview, and the bottom
half should be returned to PILA either in hard copy form to the
PILA board in Scott Commons or through email at lstar@email.virginia.edu.
Students participating in the program will be entered into a drawing
for great prizes and will help contribute to PILA summer fellowships.
